So the old news is that Prince Willams and kate Middleton are engaged and will be married soon, but the new upsurge is the engagement ring!
OK. So as of two hours ago, the royal ring has not been revealed. But you can bet your arse I'll be on the lookout. What we know so far is that - unlike his father who proposed before choosing a ring - William popped the question with a rock in hand (good boy).

donovan mcnabb Shocker! Gets massive contract extension
Against the run of play, The Washington Redskins have signed quarterback Donovan McNabb to a 5-year, $78-million contract extension, with $40-million guaranteed!
The contract comes as a complete shock. Two weeks ago Redskins coach Mike Shanahan benched McNabb in favor of Rex Grossman for a game-ending drive.
Many felt that was the beginning of the end for McNabb in Washington.
But what figured to seal his fate, was McNabb's poor play in 2010. He's on pace for a career high in interceptions, and only once since his rookie season has he posted a completion percentage this low. The Redskins had to have expected more than a 4-4 record when they traded two draft picks to acquire the longtime Eagles quarterback this offseason.
Instead, the Redskins committed millions of dollars and half a decade to McNabb. And that's more than most would surrender to a struggling quarterback who turns 34 later this month.

Apple seemed ready for the chrstmas holidays, when they updated their homepage with a teaser announcement, :Apple: We Have an iTunes Announcement "You'll Never Forget"!
You know Apple means business when they replace the entire front page of Apple.com with a giant teaser announcement flogging something that will happen tomorrow at 10AM Eastern, 7AM Pacific. What could it be? Streaming? The shuttering of Ping?
Apple rarely goes this crazy with a pre-release announcement. Rumor and innuendo usually rule the day when it comes to things like this and for them to post a huge “Guess what we’re doing!” on the front page is a big deal. I personally haven’t heard much out of Cupertino this week but we’ll do a little digging to figure out what’s going on here.
Watever the Itunes announcement is, it better be good! We're way past April!

Jeremy Bieber lives in Canada, where he is married with two children. He is 37 years old, so he was quite young when he became Justin Bieber’s dad!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT
This is such a fantastic book. I can't believe the amount of detail that is in this pop up book. The art really enhances the story. The original story is contained in small booklets pocketed on each fold out. This would be perfect to read out loud, covering one section each night leading up to Christmas. I think this would capture the attention of even the most jaded child or adult. This is the first book by Chuck Fischer that I have ever seen, but it won't be my last.

Marie Osmond on 'Oprah': Opens Up the can of sorrows
Marie Osmond - Marie Osmond with a massively emotional output, opened up to Oprah about the suicide of her adopted son Michael back in March. I find her story quite touching.
Before he died, Marie’s son Michael told her that he had no friends. According to a recent nydailynews.com article by Caroline Culbertson, 51-year old Osmond told Oprah that when she heard him say that, it brought back memories of when she went through depression.
Marie then continued her heartfelt recollection of events, and said that she had told Michael that she would be with him on the Monday and everything was going to be okay. However, she then went on to say: “But depression doesn’t wait until Monday.”
Osmond said that Michael appeared to be getting better in 2009 and was even planning to go to college. Things obviously weren’t as they appeared with him however, as the 18-year old committed suicide by jumping from his apartment building in Los Angeles.

As reported over at babble.com by Lulu and Moxley’s mom, the new “Friday Night Lights” mixtape features the highly-anticipated “in the Morning” track, which sees J. Cole collaborating with fellow rapper Drake. “in the Morning” is the very first duet between the two rappers.
Both J. Cole and Drake have often been compared to each other, because of their similar stories of success. Although Drake is signed under Lil Wayne’s record label Young Money Entertainment, while J. Cole is signed under Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label.
When speaking to MTV News about working with J. Cole, Drake said: “Me and him will probably have many opportunities to rap, and try and out-rap each other.” “Friday Night Lights” is in fact the third mixtape from J. Cole, with the others being “The Come Up” and “The Warm Up.”

What we haven't seen from Mizugaki, however, is whether he can handle a wrestler like Faber, and my guess is that he can't: I like Faber to win this one in impressive fashion, and I think the UFC will name him its No. 1 bantamweight contender in 2011.

Chad Mendes vs. Javier Vazquez
Mendes, a training partner of Faber's, is undefeated and has looked good in winning all four of his WEC fights, and I think he could be a UFC featherweight title contender in 2011 if he gets by Vazquez, who's dangerous with his submissions but not as good a wrestler or a striker as Mendes.

Erik Koch vs. Francisco Rivera
Koch was originally slated to fight Josh Grispi on this card, until Grispi was picked to challenge Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title. The bad news for Koch is that he missed out on a fight with Grispi that would have been the biggest of his career to date. The good news is that Rivera, who's making his WEC debut, is a much easier opponent than Grispi and gives Koch a much better chance of earning his win bonus. Rivera has gone 5-0 while fighting for smaller promotions, but I like the 22-year-old Koch to take him down, submit him and hand him his first career loss.

Burn Notice
Yea, seemed like eternity, but Burn Notice is Back!
The flashbacks that 'Lost' employed seemed so clever when the show began. Of course, midway through season 3, they started to grate when they were clearly being used to stall for time. 'Lost' was able to pull out of that slump, though, by changing up the game plan and finding new and different ways to remix and reconfigure its storytelling elements. As the flashes evolved, so did the show.
'Burn Notice,' which returns 10PM ET Thursday on USA, doesn't copy 'Lost's' formula, which a a dozen island experts could never codify even if they wanted to. In any case, 'Burn Notice' is comfortable telling fairly straightforward Robin Hood tales about Michael Westen and his merry little band of justice-dispensers.
Still, as was the case with 'Lost' circa early 2007, a formerly enjoyable central element of the show has begun to feel like a muddled, repetitive afterthought.

The legend of the Edmund Fitzgerald remains the most mysterious and controversial of all shipwreck tales heard around the Great Lakes. 35 years on, someone gives it an impressive memorial.The Split Rock Lighthouse in Two Harbors, Minn., shines its beacon Nov. 5 to mark the great Minnesota November storms. Usually the light is only illuminated on Nov. 10 to remember the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
It's a music day today. This song honors the 35th anniversary of the tragedy of Edmund Fitzgerald. The wild weather early this month in the Great Lakes has dredged up the memories of the sinking of the huge ship Fitzgerald. In 1975, the ship lost a battle against the stormy weather on Lake Superior and went down with all hands on board. The cause was never determined.
Gordon Lightfoot turned the tale into a haunting song whose refrain warns, "The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead/When the skies of November turn gloomy."
On the YouTube page, listeners recall where they were when the crashed happened. "I was out on whitefish bay that day on my Lake Erie fish boat; barely made it back to Mamainse Harbour. It was the most scared I ever been. We found washed up wreckage the next day," writes MisterBCBudman.

A missile was apparently fired off the Southern California coast Monday night, leaving the entire state and nation at large in a deep puzzle. But Pentagon and top military officials are extremely tight-lipped on details about what actually happened.U.S. Northern Command, where the Pentagon has directed all calls, said in a statement this afternoon that the command was unable to provide specific details about the “unexplained contrail,” or vapor trail, reported off the coast of Southern California. The command said it and NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command that provides early warning of any missile attacks on the United States and Canada, were aware of Monday night's sighting.
“But we are working to determine the exact nature of this event,” the statement said. “We can confirm that there is no threat to our nation, and from all indications this was not a launch by a foreign military.”
A Pentagon spokesman told National Journal this morning that officials are coordinating with various agencies to "see what we know about it."
